The Sheldon SOLID Project is a STEAM-based program that challenges students to design and create their own musical instruments by following the steps of the engineering cycle. Students will learn about the connected worlds of sound, science and art. This program is designed to get students excited about creative problem solving by combining the creativity of the arts with STEM disciplines.
The PTO typically holds the general membership meeting on the second Thursday of each month. However, dates shift based on holidays and/or school events. Meetings are at 6:30pm in the library, and childcare for school-aged children is provided.
If you’ve ever wanted to help out and do something around school, or if you’ve looked around and said to yourself, “someone should fix/clean/spruce-up ______”? Now is your chance to help make a difference!
There will be something for everyone (dress appropriately). Outside we will be doing trash pick-up, raking, and planting of bulbs and some painting. Inside, we need people willing to do some painting and deep cleaning – we will dust and disinfect all classrooms, walls will be scraped and scrubbed to remove tape and grime, and the cafeteria walls will benefit greatly from a scrub down.
Bring water bottles and snacks.
Please feel free to bring family and friends! This is a great way to earn service hours.
